The ticker to the right ticked to two digits, with a nice win from Boudicca. Owned and bred by Charles and Cynthia McGinnes, the 3-year-old daughter of Hard Spun nailed Virginia Ann in the final strides to win by a neck. Sheldon Russell guided the chestnut filly to the victory.
As we mentioned before, the wins do come easier in the dead of winter and it's nice to get to 10 this early in the year. Forty to go to reach this year's goal.
The weekend was disappointing to say the least. Red's Round Table stumbled out of the gate in the Barbara Fritchie. It was over in the time it took starter Bruce Wagner to hit the button. Bummer. Eighttofasttocatch ran well to be fourth in the General George, tough trip. Bummer II.
